Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) for US Citizens

Many countries around the world now require police clearance certificates for foreigners coming to their country from the countries where he or she has resided. The government of Kuwait requires that all non-Kuwaiti citizens applying for residence provide a police clearance certificate from their home country. This document must be authenticated by the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in the country where the PCC was issued.

American citizens in the process of obtaining Kuwaiti residency should obtain a police clearance from the United States prior to their arrival in Kuwait. Please note that police clearances are also required for dependents. U.S. Department of State authentication (USDOS) and embassy legalization for U.S. documents must be completed in the United States.

Police Clearance Retrieval for Visa

In the USA, a citizen can obtain a police clearance from various sources including city, county or state police departments. They can also obtain a federal police clearance from the FBI. If you live in the United States, you can complete most of these procedures yourself at a local police station or through the FBI. However, if you are living overseas you may need a third party in the US to help you to obtain a police clearance. Requirements to Authenticate a Police Clearance from the Kuwaiti Embassy in Washington, D.C.

1. Original FBI police clearance issued within three months from the date it is to be presented to the embassy for authentication
2. Copy of the passport
3. Copy of Driver’s License to determine embassy jurisdiction
4. Cover letter from applicant stating the purpose for authentication and the applicant’s contact information
5. Letter from the Kuwaiti sponsor stating the purpose for authentication and the sponsor’s contact information

Partidas de nacimiento, defunción, matrimonio y de divorcio requieren de un manejo especial. Los originales de estos documentos son emitidos por cada Estado de la Union Americana y requieren el gran sello del Gobierno Estatal. Para poder autenticar estos documentos por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, es obligatorio que tengan el sello de certificación del Estado donde se originaron (Florida, California, etc.)

Si el documento será utilizado en un país signatario del Convenio de la Haya, el mismo Estado donde se origino el documento colocara el sello de Apostilla. Por el contrario, si el documento será utilizado en un país no signatario del Convenio de la haya, el proceso debe continuar en Washington, D.C. con la autenticación del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de los Estados Unidos y finalmente legalizado por la embajada respectiva. Favor tomar nota de lo siguiente:

1. La mayor parte de los Estados no aceptan copias certificada por un notario público. También muchos países extranjeros no aceptan copias notariadas de partidas de nacimiento, defunción, matrimonio o divorcio.

2. Algunos Estados de la Union Americana emiten partidas de nacimiento para ser usadas internacionalmente. Cuando la partida será utilizada en un país signatario del convenio de la Haya la entregan con el sello de Apostilla. Para los países no signatarios del Convenio de la haya los documentos los entregan certificados para ser autenticados por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores en Washington DC.

3. Sin importar el Estado de le Union Americana donde se emitieron dichos documentos envíenos un correo electrónico que nosotros le tendremos la solución.
