FBI fingerprinting

We provide walk in live scan fingerprinting services at our Springfield, Virginia office, which is part of the Washington D.C. (WDC) metro area. For companies or organizations located within the WDC metro area we also have mobile capabilities so it is easy for your company or organization to schedule appointments at your own site. Services is provided by appointment made online or by phone (703-212-8449).

♦ Results are accessed online, usually within a few days. A hard copy can also be mailed. If you chose this option once processed it will be mailed to your address for an additional fee.

♦ We have state of the art technology approved by the FBI that will capture your fingerprints electronically and then submit them to the FBI.

♦ FBI PDF’s sent to us for apostille or authentication are printed on secure paper. The U.S Department of State does not accept photocopies.

How To Submit a Request about FBI fingerprinting

Step One: Get Fingerprinted

Call our office for an appointment to have fingerprints taken and then submit it electronically.

If you are outside our service area and can’t come in person to our office you can have your prints taken anywhere and mail them to us. Most local law enforcement agencies provide this service. Make sure it is on the FBI standard FD-258 card. In order to avoid any mail damage, if possible, make sure your fingerprints are printed on thick paper, and for shipping use a rigid envelope that will not fold or wrinkle. The fingerprints have to fit within the indicated boxes on the FBI card. We have found that fingerprints that exceed the indicated boxes are rejected by the FBI software and therefore the background check cannot be processed.

Step Two: Complete Forms

Mail the fingerprints to us together with:

FD-258 Fingerprint card. If possible, send two sets of cards to ensure that the fingerprints are clear and readable. In some cases, the FBI might reject a set of fingerprints due to quality. If this happens, the second set will be submitted immediately, reducing your wait time for a completed report.

♦ An FBI-approved Channeler may only process requests for a U.S. Citizen or a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.

♦ Addresses provided on the release form must be residential addresses within the United States and reports may not be sent to the attention of anyone other than the individual who was fingerprinted. Business addresses and PO Boxes will not be accepted by the FBI.

♦ Email addresses provided must be unique personal email addresses and not indicate the name of anyone other than the individual who was fingerprinted.

Step Three: Pricing

The price is US$ 75 per FBI Background Check for results being emailed. A hard copy option is available for an additional fee.

♦ Once you receive your official pdf, please be sure to download and save the pdf to your computer.

Non-US Citizens without permanent residence status

There are international travelers or individuals that for any reason have lived for some time in the U.S. and now need an FBI Background Check. Please email us and we will detail the procedure.

Federal Apostille for your FBI Background Check

If you are planning to use the FBI Background Check in a foreign country in most of the cases the guest country will require it to be Apostille or Authenticated depending upon the country. An FBI Background Check is a federal document and it can only be Apostille or Authenticated by the U.S. Department of State (USDOS) here in Washington, D.C. We can process the Apostille or Authentication for your Background Check. The USDOS will not accept photocopies, you must send the original copy or email the digital pdf copy provided by the FBI.
